Prehistoric Farm Eggs: Acquisition and Incubator Guides
Choose acquisition guidance when you need an egg, hatch guidance when one is ready to place, and capacity guidance when slots are occupied. These pages distinguish the fossil exchange from sea egg activities and keep incubation separate from the care a hatched creature needs.
An acquired egg and an available slot solve different problemsChoose a Prehistoric Farm egg source, place an acquired egg in an incubator, and compare capacity with the actual hatch task.

An acquired egg and an available slot solve different problems
The ordinary egg route begins with a completed creature fossil set at Dr. Ivy’s DNA Lab. The official exploration description also names sea reptile eggs in the Sunken Grotto. Those are acquisition paths; an empty incubator does not collect their inputs for you. For a first creature, the documented Cambrian set exchange gives a concrete starting requirement of five fossils belonging to one creature.
Two incubator slots start unlocked, with six supported by the room. Place an acquired egg in an available unlocked slot and follow its actual timer. More capacity supports another egg; it is not documented as faster incubation. The incubator guide compares approximate rarity timers and the known third- and fourth-slot prices. Once the egg hatches, the creature needs compatible food and Belly above half full. That care belongs to the ranch stage rather than another hatch timer. Choose the page for the stage you have actually reached.

An acquired egg and an available slot solve different problems: questions
Do I need six slots for the first egg?
No. Two slots start unlocked; use available capacity first.
Does Skip Hatching remove incubation?
Its description concerns the hatch cutscene, rather than the running egg timer.
