Prehistoric Farm Dr. Ivy Guide: DNA Lab and Ranch Care

Last updated 2026-10-06Unofficial player article

Find Dr. Ivy in Prehistoric Farm, understand her completed fossil set exchange, and distinguish the DNA Lab from other home services.

Dr. Ivy is the NPC associated with the DNA Lab in Prehistoric Farm. Her service turns a completed creature fossil set into an egg. Find that lab on Home Island when the collection is ready, rather than searching the fossil island for the extraction step.

This gameplay video shows the player returning home and obtaining an egg from the fossil station. Focus on the service and the ready creature set when recognizing the destination.

Identify the lab by its job

The DNA Lab is also described as the Fossil Station. Both names refer to the completed-set exchange in this context. Dr. Ivy is the relevant NPC for that task; a feed or shovel shop serves a different part of the ranch loop.

Home Island is the base for returning from a collection trip. Exact coordinates for Dr. Ivy are not established here, so use her name and the DNA Lab or Fossil Station label rather than a fabricated map marker.

Bring the collection she needs

The input is a completed set for one creature. For each Cambrian creature, that means five fossils. A mixed inventory containing five pieces across different creatures is not the same completed input.

Use Get Egg for the completed creature. This produces an egg, not an instantly grown dinosaur. Plan an incubator stop afterward if you want the extraction to advance into a hatch.

Keep Dr. Ivy's exchange separate from ranch care

Once the egg hatches, the dinosaur needs compatible food and Belly above half full to continue growing. Those care actions happen after the extraction service. Returning to Dr. Ivy is useful for another ready fossil set, not as a replacement for feeding.

Use the DNA Lab guide for the input-and-output relationship. Use how to use the DNA Lab for the exchange action. If the station has nothing ready to extract, check the creature's fossil count before assuming you have found the wrong NPC.
